There are a lot of programs out there, and you can pay a lot for some of them when there are programs out there that’ll do the trick, and sometimes better due to the community support.
If you have the means to do so, or if these programs help you get those means, consider supporting them financially, and/or make your own contribution to the FOSS community. Remember, they are free as in speech, not beer.

I find it easy to use and easy to modify (via plugins) without hacking the source code.
